It's really happening! Construction is underway. Over the past three weeks, a lot has happened. I never really knew what it took to get a house built, but now that it's happening right before my eyes, I'm facinated. I won't bore you with all the details, so maybe some pictures with captions will be interesting.

After the framing for the foundation,our plumber, Scott, put in the pipes for the
Plastic sheeting has been put down and sand placed on top.
Rebar is placed in the trenches and crisscrossed over the top. Now it is ready for concrete.
Early last Saturday the concrete pump and mixers began their work.
It took about 5 hours to pour the concrete...
...another 4 hours to finish it off.

Here the wet concrete is firming up to have the finishing touches.
The next day it rained all day. It's a good thing the slab had hardened enough. It looks great now.
This will be the view from our living room. The snow on those mountains has all melted now.
This morning we had two big loads of lumber delivered. Framing should begin this Saturday. I'm amazed at how fast Thuan is getting things done. The kids sure are excited! Soon you all can really come visit...all together!!
