Eric & Matt in volleyball tournament

On Saturday, March 16, Eric and I got to play in a beach volleyball tournament at Ocean Beach. We had signed up for the lowest division, because we've only done this once before, but we were the only ones in that division, so they asked us if we wanted to play in the next division up. We said yes, and figured we'd have our hands full. The day was super windy, so it was very hard to play. We were in a pool of six teams and we lost our first game to the team that we could have defeated later in the day. As the day went on, we got used to playing in the wind and did better. We finished pool play with a record of 3 wins and 2 losses, good enough for a 3rd place seed, and a chance to play in the "playoffs". First we played the 2nd place seed team and beat them, then we also defeated the 1st seed team, so we were the champions of the division. It was very exciting, and totally unexpected. We received hats and hoodies as prizes. The only downside is that having won the "B" division, we now have to move up and play in the "A" division, where there are some much better players.
